Pula a lovely city

Today I present to you the magnificent city of Pula, the city in which I spent my 10 months of ERASMUS. Pula immediately seduced me with its sea air and its strong Balkan-Italian influences.

The city of Pula, although not the capital of the county of Istria, is its largest city and urban center, located at the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula.
The city was colonized in Roman times, which is more than evident by the huge, well-preserved arena dominating the cityscape. In modern times, it began to gain importance when the Austrians began to use the port for naval purposes; shipbuilding and the military industry began there in the 18th century.

What to visit

Pula Arena

The Roman amphitheater of Pula is the most important monument and the starting point for any visit. It is the only remaining Roman amphitheatre to have the four side towers and other Roman architectural areas entirely preserved. Come in the morning or afternoon to get more dramatic photo.
