Pula from every angle

“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta

Welcome to my blog about my ERASMUS experience in Croatia. A 10-month experience marked by discovery, curiosity, and wonder. This blog is a bit of my roadmap, as well as a good way to give you my valuable advices before you go to Croatia. I hope to make you travel through this blog, and give you the desire to discover this beautiful country.

Croatia is a country in central and southern Europe whose capital is Zagreb, with a population of around 4.6 million

Croatia is divided into 5 main regions (from north to south): Slavonia, Central Croatia, Istria, the Kvarner Gulf, and Dalmatia.

Croatia also has more than 700 islands scattered over the Adriatic Sea. Some are uninhabited and still in the wild. The main islands are Brač, Hvar, Vis, Korcula and Mljet. They are mainly accessible from the ports of Split and Dubrovnik.

A sneak peak of Croatia

Pula a lovely city

The city of Pula, although not the capital of the county of Istria, is its largest city and urban center, located at the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula. The city was colonized in Roman times, which is more than evident by the huge, well-preserved arena dominating the cityscape. In modern times, it began to gain importance when the Austrians began to use the port for naval purposes; shipbuilding and the military industry began there in the 18th century.
